13-year old singer Adam Khaykin performs “Edelweiss” by Rogers and Hammerstein.
Adam is a first generation American who has loved music from a very young age and studies both violin and voice. In his video he shares what it’s like to have ADHD, autism, and anxiety.
“My hardest challenges are low executive functioning, short term memory difficulties and anxiety. I am beyond grateful to be included in something that’s national and also meaningful!,” he says. “Having disabilities often feels lonely and isolating, but it doesn’t have to be this way. I utilize music to help me in such moments. I hope others will choose music or singing as one of their tools, as well.”
Adam is participating in From the Top’s Musicians with Disabilities Celebration. Throughout the spring, From the Top is spotlighting young disabled and neurodivergent musicians who have been invited to share their talents and stories on Daily Joy.
