Natalie-Elise Huang (violin), 17, currently studyies with Joan Kwuon at the Colburn School. Born and raised in Los Angeles, she began playing the violin at age nine, and remains dedicated to music-making. As a Herbert Zipper Scholar she plays in an honors quartet in the Ed & Mari Edelman Chamber Music Institute and in the Colburn Chamber Orchestra. With the National Pathways Festival Orchestra, she has performed side-by-side with the Nashville Symphony and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Possessing a special interest in diversity and access in classical music, she is a networking intern with Equity Arc, and an avid enjoyer of contemporary composers. She has had the pleasure of playing for Pedja Muzijevic, Kelly Parkins-Lindstrom, and members of the Fibonacci Trio in masterclass. Additional crucial mentors to her growth as a musician include Gina Coletti, Aimee Kreston, and Moni Simeonov. Natalie spends her summers at Greenwood Music Camp and Borromeo Music Festival. Outside of classical music, she enjoys volunteering with friends, watching long movies, and spending time in nature.
