When Annabel Parker, soprano, first appeared on From the Top, she graced the audience with a lovely Italian aria.
Today, she’s sharing something completely different. The song “Taylor the Latte Boy,” by Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich, is about a charming coffee shop connection that’s bound to make you smile.
Rockport, Maine Annabel appeared on Show 379, recording in Portland, Maine on November 20, 2019.
Annabel Parker (soprano) 17, from Rockport, Maine is a senior at Camden Hills Regional High School. She studies voice with Kathryn DerMarderosian and piano with Jim Nga at Bay Chamber Music School. She earned the Ezra Rachlin Prize of Excellence at the Young Stars of Maine Program through Bay Chamber Concerts and Music School. She is a five-time winner of Maine’s National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition. She also portrayed Mary Poppins in her school musical this fall. Her other interests include art, debate, and history.
Music has the unique ability to bring joy to our lives – especially in the hands of young people. Daily Joy is a reminder of music’s power to uplift, inspire, and unite.
Daily Joy is a project of From the Top. It began in the very early days of the Covid-19 pandemic and continues today to offer a much-needed respite from the anxiety and worry that we encounter in the world.
