17-year-old pianist Taylor Wang from Dayton, Ohio performs an excerpt from Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 26, which the composer wrote in anticipation of seeing a friend. Taylor is inspired by the joy she’ll feel when she’s reunited with friends.

Taylor Wang (piano), 16, hails from Dayton, Ohio and is a junior at Walnut Hill School for the Arts, where she studies piano with New England Conservatory Preparatory School (NEC Prep) faculty member Sergey Schepkin. She was the Second Place Winner in the 2018 NEC Prep Concerto Competition (Category C). Taylor made her Carnegie Hall debut at the age of nine after she won the gold and grand prizes in the World Piano Competition in 2011. Taylor is also a Chopin Scholarship recipient of the Chopin Foundation of the United States. In her free time, she enjoys rock climbing, reading, cooking, and baking.
