18-year-old flutist Eugene Lee from Cambridge, Massachusetts, performs Sigfrid Karg-Elert’s Sonata Appassionata in F-Sharp minor. This eerie, atonal work—written during World War I—reminds Eugene of a mythological battle. With expert artistry, he brings its dark, dramatic energy vividly to life.
