Bach originally wrote his Inventions to help beginners improve their piano technique. But this young cellist has given them new life.
For today’s Daily Joy, Davis You is sharing his arrangement of Bach’s 12th Invention for two cellos, and he’s playing both parts.
Palo Alto, California Davis You (cello), 17, lives in Palo Alto, California where he is a junior at Palo Alto High School. He studies cello with Jonathan Koh. Davis was the winner of the California American String Teacher’s Association competition and a semifinalist in the M. Klein International String Competition. In his free time, he likes computer programming and eating In-N-Out with friends.
