Liam Meyers (viola), 17, is an Irish-American violist from New York City and a full merit scholar in The Juilliard School Pre-College program, where he is a private student of Carol Rodland.

Liam has performed internationally at major venues in New York, Boston, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Spain, Greece, Hungary, and the Czech Republic, including on the Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. He was the youngest American selected for the 10th Fesztivál Akadémia Budapest and has served as Principal Violist for the Prague Piano and String Festival, New York Youth Symphony’s 2024 Tour of Greece, and the Fesztivál Akadémia Budapest.

A member of the Grammy Award-winning and Billboard #1 New York Youth Symphony, Liam has collaborated with artists including Maxim Vengerov, Augustin Hadelich, Simone Dinnerstein, Andreas Ottensamer, the Harlem Quartet, and Time for Three. His performances have been featured on NPR, CBS, WNYC, New York Public Media, Raidió Teilifís Éireann, and The Violin Channel.

An avid chamber musician and classical music ambassador, Liam serves as a Director of Global Operations for the Back to BACH Project, the world’s largest student-led arts advocacy organization, and as an Ambassador for the Kaufman Music Center. He is the Founder and Co-Editor-in-Chief of Ragtime, one of New York City’s largest student-run high school newspapers, and holds elected leadership roles as Student Government Co-President and Debate Team Co-President at Special Music School High School. In 2024, he was named an Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra Outstanding Young Musician, and in 2025, a Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Gold Key winner.

Receiving the award will allow Liam to purchase a new bow which will serve him through college and into the professional field. The award will also support his upcoming college audition recording needs and allow him to take consultation lessons with prospective teachers.
