The Sylvan Quartet initially came together with a mission to perform in nursing homes. Comprised of Nicholas Yoo (violin), 17; Jinan Laurentia Woo (violin) 16; Noah Chung-Igelman (cello) 16; and Jisang Kymm (viola) 17, they play Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik, K.525, II. Romanze.

The Sylvan Quartet is composed of Nicholas Yoo (violin), 17; Jinan Laurentia Woo (violin) 16; Noah Chung-Igelman (cello) 16; and Jisang Kymm (viola) 17. They are all students of the Juilliard School’s Pre-College Program. The talented quartet met with a passion for performing for others, sharing their love for music not only with themselves but also with their community. They are coached by violinist Stefan Jackiw.
Music has the unique ability to bring joy to our lives – especially in the hands of young people. Daily Joy is a reminder of music’s power to uplift, inspire, and unite.
Daily Joy is a project of From the Top. It began in the very early days of the Covid-19 pandemic and continues today to offer a much-needed respite from the anxiety and worry that we encounter in the world.
