With Bach’s birthday being this month, we want to be sure to pay tribute to one of classical music’s giants.
For today’s Daily Joy, teenage guitarist Conor Padmanabhan is sharing an impressive performance of a Bach transcription of a Vivaldi work.
This is Bach’s Concerto No. 1 , BWV 972 arranged for classical guitar by Judicael Perroy.
Palo Alto, California Conor appeared on Show 382, recording on February 6, 2020 at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston.
Conor Padmanabhan (guitar), 16, from Palo Alto, California is a high school junior, who studies guitar with Scott Cmiel at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College Division. Conor was a prizewinner in the National YoungArts Foundation Competition in both 2019 and 2020. He was also the first-place winner of the 2018 statewide guitar competition of the California Chapter of the American String Teacher’s Association. Conor was also the first non-pianist to perform for the Steinway Society of the Bay Area. In his spare time, Conor enjoys hanging out with friends and watching action and comedy movies.
